7 Tips for Getting Through Dry January

We're getting behind the Dry January movement in a big way this year. If you're thinking of doing this challenge to help start off the new year with a better and healthier lifestyle, Let's do this together.
Here's a list of 7 tips that will help you achieve your goal of staying off booze for the month:
  1. Set a clear goal for why you are doing Dry January. Having a strong motivation can help you stay on track. Writing this down on paper can actually help quite a bit.

  2. Tell your friends and family about your goal. Having support from those around you can make a big difference.

  3. Find alternative ways to socialize. Instead of meeting up at a bar, try doing something different like going for a hike or having a game night.

  4. Plan ahead. If you know you will be in a situation where alcohol is present, come up with a plan in advance for how you will handle it. (Bring alternatives, think of some jokes to deflect, or think about what you'll order instead of alcohol)

  5. Reward yourself. Treat yourself to something special, like a massage or a new book, to celebrate your accomplishment at the end of the month.

  6. Don't be too hard on yourself. It's okay if you slip up. Just get back on track and continue working towards your goal.

  7. Consider seeking professional help if you feel like you need it. If you are struggling to moderate your alcohol consumption or if you think you may have an alcohol dependency, it may be helpful to speak with a mental health professional.

There are many good reasons why you should stop drinking alcohol. We got your back!
